Club Meeting
January 2, 2025 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Curt Anderson, Vickie Salter, and Mellisa McCloud will be leading a hands-on demonstration on how to make emergency sugar bricks for your bees to help them through the Winter months, should their stores run low. It’s a great opportunity to learn a simple and effective method for winter bee care!
If you’d like to participate in making your own sugar brick during the session, please bring the following ingredients PRE-MEASURED. We’re working with limited time, so having everything ready to go will help us stay on track:
- 6.25 lbs white, granulated sugar (14 heaping cups)
- 4 ounces of water
- 1 Tablespoon each of Apple Cider Vinegar and Honey B-Healthy (HBH is optional)
- 3 disposable baking tins (at least 8.5 x 4.5 x 2.5 inches)
- Mixing spoon
- Bowl
While there are many recipes for sugar bricks, this is one of the simplest, and it provides your bees with the necessary carbohydrates to keep them going through the colder months.
We look forward to seeing you there and making some sugar bricks together!
